چکیده
This paper presents a generalization of the invariant subspace theorem of Helson and Lowdenslager along the lines of de Branges’ generalization of Beurling’s theorem.

Szegő Limit Theorems
The first Szegő limit theorem has been extended by Bump-Diaconis and Tracy-Widom to limits of other minors of Toeplitz matrices. We extend their results still further to allow more general measures and more general determinants. We also give a new extension to higher dimensions, which extends a theorem of Helson and Lowdenslager. §
متن کاملDe Branges Functions of Schroedinger Equations
We characterize the Hermite-Biehler (de Branges) functions E which correspond to Shroedinger operators with L potential on the finite interval. From this characterization one can easily deduce a recent theorem by Horvath. We also obtain a result about location of resonances.
متن کاملSpectral Perturbation Theory and the Two Weights Problem
The famous two weights problem consists in characterising all possible pairs of weights such that the Hardy projection is bounded between the corresponding weighted L spaces. Koosis’ theorem of 1980 gives a way to construct a certain class of pairs of weights. We show that Koosis’ theorem is closely related to (in fact, is a direct consequence of) a spectral perturbation model suggested by de B...
متن کاملDe Branges’ Theorem on Approximation Problems of Bernstein Type
The Bernstein approximation problem is to determine whether or not the space of all polynomials is dense in a given weighted C0-space on the real line. A theorem of de Branges characterizes non-density by existence of an entire function of Krein class being related with the weight in a certain way. An analogous result holds true for weighted sup-norm approximation by entire functions of exponen...
متن کاملOn the De Branges Theorem
Recently, Todorov and Wilf independently realized that de Branges' original proof of the Bieberbach and Milin conjectures and the proof that was later given by Weinstein deal with the same special function system that de Branges had introduced in his work. In this article, we present an elementary proof of this statement based on the deen-ing diierential equations system rather than the closed ...
